The other day I got to thinking about the phrase: “Express yourself”. In particular, the different meanings of the word “express”.

For example, there’s emotional expressions (conveying a thought or feeling), expressing breast milk (squeezing out a liquid), express mail or the express bus (sending something faster than the usual method).

When I feel the need to express myself now I can’t help but picture my emotions coming out of me like a liquid under pressure at a faster than normal rate.
